Winner of 2012 Montreal International Guitar Competition, Brendan Evans has been studying guitar with increasing intensity since age 13. Early studies with Bob Squires and Apostolos Paraskevas led to bachelor’s studies at the Oberlin Conservatory with Steve Aron, and subsequently to graduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory with David Tanenbaum.
Since receiving his master’s degree in 2008, Brendan has performed extensively in the United States and abroad, as well as won prizes in 8 consecutive competitions, including his most recent victory at the Montreal International Guitar Competition. Brendan plays a guitar made by David Pace.
Baltimore luthier David Pace, an avid guitarist as well as an expert luthier, began building guitars at a time when his desire for a hand-built classical guitar outweighed his means for procuring a quality instrument. Now David’s guitars are in high demand and played by guitarists all over the world. In addition to building several instruments every year, Mr. Pace speaks regularly at guitar festivals over a variety of modern innovations in guitar technology.
Presented in collaboration with The Music School of Delaware
