We’re excited to be welcoming back classical guitarist Jeremy Lyons for another concert with the Wilmington Classical Guitar Society. We were blown away by his performance for WCGS in 2011 and couldn’t wait to have him back. This concert he will be performing works by Rodrigo, Castelnouvo-Tedesco, Britten and more.

A reception featuring MyHouse Cookies will follow the concert.

==Artist Bio:
A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Jeremy Lyons began studying the classical guitar at a young age with his father, Glenn Lyons. He completed his undergraduate work with Bruce Holzman at Florida State University, and graduate work with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory.

Currently based in Baltimore, Jeremy regularly performs throughout the mid-Atlantic and north-east regions. He also performs with his duo partner, soprano, Lisa Perry, in the Baltimore area and beyond. In 2009, Jeremy was awarded first prize in the Philadelphia Guitar Society Competition and In 2010 he performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop. Jeremy also performs on viola da gamba with the Peabody Consort of Viols under the direction of John Moran, as well as viola da gamba and Baroque guitar with the Peabody Renaissance Ensemble under the direction of Mark Cudek. While maintaining an active performing career, Jeremy is the current guitar instructor at A.R.T.I-S.T music education center in Perry Hall Maryland.

In addition to regular performing and teaching, Jeremy often collaborates with local composers in an effort to expand the contemporary guitar repertoire. He is involved in research concerning topics from early lute and guitar repertoire to twentieth and twenty first-century guitar chamber music. Jeremy is currently completing a DMA in guitar performance and a second masters degree in musicology at the Peabody Conservatory.
