The Wilmington Classical Guitar Society is proud to present New York guitarist Colin Davin in his first Wilmington appearance!

Hailed as “the real thing, a player with a virtuoso’s technique, a deeply expressive musicianship, and a probing imagination” (American Record Guide), guitarist Colin Davin has earned a reputation as a virtuoso guitarist and a refined interpreter. Winner of numerous guitar competitions, and known also for his engaging stage presence, Mr. Davin has performed for audiences at venues across the United States and abroad.

His debut album, “The Infinite Fabric of Dreams,” has been praised as “some of the finest interpretations I’ve heard…achingly beautiful…a thoughtful, perceptive interpretation, filled with details often missed” (American Record Guide) and “a first-rate disc…Davin knows the pieces deeply and delivers virtuosic and exciting performances…state of the art” (Soundboard).

Matthew Lavanish

Matthew Lavanish is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he received both his Bachelor\’s and Master\’s degrees in Music with a concentration in classical guitar performance under the instruction of Christiaan Taggart. He has also studied extensively with guitarist Alice Artzt of Princeton and Brazilian guitarist Paulo Martelli, and has played in master classes for Jason Vieaux, The Katona Twins and Eleftheria Kotzia, among others.

Matthew is President, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of the Wilmington Classical Guitar Society, as well as an aspiring luthier. He currently teaches privately and in the past has taught at or served on the faculty of: The Music School of Delaware, The St. Andrew\’s School and the Community Music School at The University of Delaware.
